Transfer news: Real Madrid to replace Ronaldo with Neymar
Real Madrid are plotting a move for Neymar to become the face of a new era at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Corriere dello Sport reports that a major clear out is imminent at the Spanish club.
The LaLiga and European champions will look to finally part ways with Cristiano Ronaldo in the summer.
Real president, Florentino Perez, has reportedly resisted pressure from Ronaldo for a new deal this time, with the Portuguese captain unhappy at earning less than Lionel Messi after his bumper extension at the Camp Nou.
Gareth Bale and Karim Benzema are also expected to depart after an underwhelming season, which sees Real 19 points behind rivals, Barcelona.
Speaking last December, Perez hinted that he could sign Paris Saint-Germain forwards, Neymar Jr. and Kylian Mbappe, in future.
Both players are the most expensive footballers in the world, but that has not stopped Perez from keeping an eye on them.
“Mbappé is 18 years old, let’s leave him to develop and see how far he can go,” he told El Partidazo de COPE.
“We have the best players. Recruit Neymar and wait for Mbappé to develop? That’s not a bad idea!”
