Transfer news: Wenger reacts to Manchester United offer of £500,000 weekly to Alexis Sanchez
Arsenal boss, Arsene Wenger, has reacted to reports that Manchester
United will pay Alexis Sanchez £500,000-a-week when he joins them this
month.
Sanchez was on his way to sign for United’s rivals, Manchester City, until Jose Mourinho stepped in and blew them out of the race.
City dropped their interest in the Chilean attacker, refusing to match the financial incentives United were offering the player.
Wenger, speaking to the media on Thursday, stated that he had no problems with the Red Devils paying Sanchez that much, as they generate their own revenue.
“I respect Manchester United because they generate the resources they pay to their players themselves,” he said.
